Dont buy new ink carts, buy a new printer !

Its madness isnt it..just looking for replacement ink carts for my HP 5150 and even if i buy remanufactured carts, the cost isnt that far from just buying a complete new printer from comet !

Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

I agree it's madness & hardly environmentally friendly. The problem I've found is that the cartridges you get with a new printer have less ink than the replacement ones, and certainly less than a refilled one, so perhaps that needs taken into account.

We live in a throwaway society now, i remember the man coming out if the Tv broke or washing machine stopped working but now it's cheaper to replace things.

Amazon have the 1050A though check for better prices

You can get refills by post for the 5150, though if they are the ones which came with the printer, possibly starter cartridges, it may be worth asking them how much ink they would get in to those.

Scroll down for the refill by post option

Same as above, we used to refill them ourselves when we had inkjet, you can get the ink for silly prices.

The point is that the printers are sold at cost or less in order to hook you into buying their carts-that's where they make their money.
Exactly the same system as used by razor blade manufacturers for years.

Just buy a B&W laser printer instead. Much better quality, more reliable, cheaper to run, and the toner doesn't dry up or cost a fortune to replace.

If you need to print colour photos use one of the many online services, it is way way cheaper than buying inkjet printers/cartridges/paper.

If you have genuine needs to regularly print other colour stuff then a colour laser is the way to go.

I second that. After years of paying a fortune with inkjet printers, dealing with blocked heads because I'd only use it infrequently, I bought a HP mono laser printer in a sale for £49. 6 years later I'm still using it on the toner that came with it!

I would never go back to using an inkjet printer. Too expensive and too much hassle.
