Skype not working

The Skype program is not opening in a form where it can be used. I get the message "Warning 1909. Could not create Shortcut skype.ink.
Any ideas?

Reinstall Skype.

Try doing it the way the chap/lady did it in the last post here:

Uninstall it if you have an older version on it first, then reinstall it this way.

I have seen this post and as far as I know I followed the instructions without success.
