we're going to krakow,poland

Hi, Im going to Poland with a friend for 5 days. Just wandering if anyone else has been there and how much they budgeted/spent on their trip. We have flights and hotel booked (at a good price!). Im going to get my euros later and dont want to get too much/little. Also, any money saving tips for city break in Poland would be great.
Thanks!

There have been quite a few threads about Poland on here - do a search and some should come up.

Did you Know: It costs more than £325,000 a day to run the lifeboat service? (with no government funding) Please donate to the RNLI

Hi there is an updated Dorling Kindersley guide to Krakow (Crakow) just come out which might be useful:

I'm going in June and my hotel quoted a price in Euros and say they will take Euros or Zloty as payment - If your hotel is the same it might be worthwhile seeing if one exchange rate is more beneficial than the other.

    Hi there

We went to Krakow for 3 nights at the beginning of Feb. Thought it was a really good place to go for a city break. There are so many bars to go to - a lot of them are cellar bars so all underground and really cool! Also make sure you go to Auschwitz.
Food, drink & travel are all really cheap. A pint of beer is just under £1!
For more info on things to do, check out the tripadvisor website! Its full of travel tips etc!

    Have a lovely time

Hi. I'm thinking of going to poland - I'm learning the language and think it would be good to be in the country for a while.

How did you get good deals on flights / hotels?

    hi Dazz,
I went through lastminute.com and went on their special offers section to get the flight/hotel, though theyre not nessacarily the cheapest.
heres a couple of links about krakow (trip advisor is a great site for reviews, accommodation etc..)

does anyone know whether its best to take zlotys or euros?
    cheers.
  • Hope the weather is really warm when myself and the better half go at the end of June as for the first time ever she will be dragging me into these cool cellar bars to get out of the heat. Excellent.
