Not too happy with EDF
Monthly DD £70 on 10th of month.
Just had a £500 "DD" taken out yesterday outwith normal billing cycle.
Checked online and sure enough that is what the bill states.
However, they are also reducing my monthly payment to £50 per month due to "overpayment" - all this is on the SAME bill.
!!!!!! - is this just to benefit THEIR cashflow?
Can I claim back, and get some of that DD back and increase my DD payments?
I see on another post someone is trying to claim back an overpayment as their monthly DD has put them in credit, but EDF won't let them.

Complain in writing TODAY, and get onto your bank to pull the £500 D/D back
EDF may well have a case for changeing your D/D - Big debt factor on the account? - But to do so without pre-adviseing you breaks all the rules
EDF's accounting has been a shambles for some time and Ofgem have Eon in their sites at this moment for malpractice on D/D's - So find the time to report your saga to Ofgem in writing0 -
I had similar happen, as above call your bank and get it back , they will do it straight away and it wont even show as gone in you account !!
Then contact EDF !!!!!
Good luck !!0 -
It sounds like they have reduced your DD because of that large one so by getting it back it would seem appropriate to raise it again.
You should make a complaint out of this, they have to inform you of changes so this sounds like an error. You could use your bank to make an indemnity claim and if they have caused you any bank charges, get them to fork out for it.:rotfl: It's better to live 1 year as a tiger than a lifetime as a worm...but then, whoever heard of a wormskin rug!!!:rotfl:0 -

Did you get either or both of a "Your latest bill" or "Your payment scheme" emails?
Was the £500 collection the result of your "annual review"? Were you aware of the timing of your annual review?0 -
EDF still need to inform you in advance before taking this huge figure. Put in a complaint and take it all the way to the ombudsman as they don't have a leg to stand on.0
