Hi all
Is there a link within this site to make donations to MSE online ?
Plus what percentage goes toward Martin and the sites development ?

On the subject of funding I was reminded of a recent interview with the CraigsList founder. His aim was not to make money from his web site and he ended up making a good living. As he says:
"It was fairly ironic, 100 per cent of dotcoms were geared toward trying to achieve an IPO and make a lot of money and 99 per cent or more of those companies went bust without making a nickel," said Buckmaster. "Craigslist was never about money, and yet we were one of the very few that came through the bust and have done well year after year."
(Quote comes from this article)
MSE reminds me a lot of that. By not trying to squeeze money out of people you actually make more money. You might get less per person but you get a lot more people.0 -
The reason I asked was I really like Martin Lewis's format here and his ethical stance and I can admire him for being up-front with the fact that he gets some money out of this site for his time and expertise and research ... I was just wondering the best way to go about it for my own website since a number of people have asked if they can donate to help pay for the site and forum ...0
