PPI Top-up Help

Hi There
I was wondering whether someone may be able to help me with a query.
I had an original loan with RBS with PPI attached. I then had a couple of top-ups applied over a period.
I have been in touch with RBS who have been unable to locate the original loan agreement and have advised that my signature on one of my PPI requests (The original with the PPI) didnt match their records (Amazing seeing as the other requests had went through).
I’m not sure whether it is of help but all subsequent loans were a top up of the original loan (Which had PPI attached £2,665). If this was repaid/topped up, in total does this technically mean I had PPI against each of my loans even if I only took it out on the original loan? i.e. When the loan is increased, PPI is charged again, not just on the top-up loan but on the entire outstanding sum?
I've had a look around the forum but could only find an answer to loan top ups where PPI was included as part of the subsequent top-ups.
Thanks for any help.

Have you had redress on the other loans?.0

Thansk for the reply. I do not believe I have had redress on the other loans.
Thanks0 -
Do you know if you had ppi on the other loans and what were the requests you already made for these?.
If it was PPI only on the first loan, and they cannot find the details of this then send a SAR

Enclose £10 and give them 40 days to reply, you are only asking for all info they hold on you and not about a specific loan or account.0 -
Thanks, I placed requests for each of them and was told there was no PPI against them (The original loan with the PPI is the one outstanding claim which I was told by signature did not match their records) - PPI was only taken out against the original loan.
I actually put a SAR through already and they gave me details of each of the loans. Again there was no PPI against the subsequent loans only the initial loan.0 -
So you have the original agreement with the ppi showing? if this is the case then put the claim in, i do not understand why they are messing about with this!!.
Did you send a copy of this agreement that shows ppi for your claim?.
Sorry for all the questions but i do not understand what you are actually asking .
This ppi is front loaded, this is the reason for mis sell and the most upheld.
Do they need you to verify the sig before they will proceed?. if this is the case then you can go into a branch and do this..
If the first loan was repaid with the second loan, then the remaining PPI after the rebate of PPI for this loan will be on the second loan, this is what you are claiming, the first loan PPI and the remaining PPi from the first loan.0 -
Hi Amersall
Thanks for that last message I will have my signature verified and take it from there.
Basically I had an original loan with a PPI of £2,665. This was then topped up a further two times over a period of 2 years.
I have seen online examples where people topped up their loan AND also continued to take out PPI against their loans but when I asked to top up my loan I asked for PPI not to be included as I felt it wouldn’t be needed.
I sent out a SAR and received the online statements but no original credit agreements as they were unable to locate them. Unfortunately I cant find my original credit agreement for the original loan with PPI either but their statements show the very first loan with the £2,665 and no PPI taken out against the top-ups. I put three separate requests to the bank against each of the loans and was told there was no PPI against the 2 latest loans and they couldn’t verify my signature on the first loan (with the PPI).
My question was whether even although I didn’t have PPI against the second/third top-ups would I technically still have PPI from the first loan present in some form or another (through interest/settling the original loan. So when the top-up occurred will all traces of the PPI have been removed and the second loadn reduced appropriately?
So even although there was no PPI on the second/third top-up would PPI from the first loan still have an impact on the overall balance?
Thanks for being patient. I'm not too clear on the whole process myself.0
