    Hi
I have one on my landing that takes ages to get bright enough so you can see where you are going, and when you need the loo, those seconds are precious

We had the same issue, so we bought a light from Lidls for £2.99. It runs off battery and you stick it to the wall near the toilet door.

It has a sensor on it to detect movement and stays on for 30 seconds, so it's not like one that comes on at dusk and goes off at dawn (if, like my daughter you're in to building dens, the light is on all the time because it has a den around it all the time  ) - long enough for a pee and back (or it comes on again if you bob up and down infront of it :D )
It's really good and should last us for ages.

I've been trying to find a similar item online to show you, but can't find one at the moment. I'll post up if I do.

As mentioned above, IKEA do a 5W SES candle, which is equivalent to approx 20W which are fine if you have several in one fitting or just want soft lighting.

I have just been to Wilko's and couldn't find the small bayonet fitting candle bulbs. I also tried B&Q and Netto's but no luck.

I was actually going to start a new thread on lightbulbs until I saw this one as I am struggling to find energy saving bulbs. It seems easy to find standard fitting bulbs but what about: -

    reflector bulbs (R63)
    halogen capsules (G9)
    halogen bulbs (GU10)

Anyone got any advice on what to replace these with? I have seen some that replace the R63's but these were £10 each. Is it really going to be worth my while replacing all 3 bulbs in my kitchen light with these bulbs instead of buying 3 normal reflectors that cost me about £2?

    Thanks

    Karen
