Melanie Bien: Don't buy now, house prices will fall ...

On BBC news this morning. Talking about the end of the stamp duty holiday, Melanie Bien said that buyers should wait to buy as house prices are most likely to fall.
It seems that the only remaining cheerleaders for HPI are worried MPs, desperate EAs and certain trolls on these forums who pretend to be landlords and property developers.

1. The house price crash will begin.
2. There will be a dead cat bounce.
3. The second leg down will commence.
4. I will buy your house for a song.

Had to check it was not April 1st already.0 -

You imagined it.
What she actually said is that prices may fall in many areas.
Which is very different to will fall across the board.
Everyone knows that the stamp duty holiday brought forward demand by a couple of months and pushed FTB prices up a percent or so, so for the next few months FTB prices may dip back a percent or so.
Hardly worth multiple excited threads though.

The exact quote as reported on hpc..."likely to fall in many parts of the country...".
Which is not "will fall across the board."“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.

Obviusly your filter is in tip-top condition today.
She said prices will most likely fall in many regions. And she was asked twice....just to make sure, cus y'know, the shock of it all meant it had to be confirmed.
Not may. But it's nice to see you have your poster paints out trying to franticly paint a different picture and tell everyone it's the real deal.0
