hi i have rechargeable batteries in my cordless phones that need renewing
they are- AA-700 mAh- NICd 1.2V
what i want to know is do they have to be 700 mAh or can i put 1300 mAh or 2500 mAh in thier place sorry if this is a stupid question

The mAh figure gives you an idea of how long the battery will last so a 700mAh will provide a current of 700mA for an hour, or 350mA for 2 hours etc. So a 2500mAh will last over 3 times longer than a 700mAh in a similar application. The main thing to watch out for is the voltage. In your case, the old AA batteries are rated 1.2V. As long as the replacement ones are similarly rated, you should be OK.0
