applying for a tesco cc online

After trying to get Virgin to lower my 26% APR now the 0% has finished, and failing, I've come to the conclusion that I really need to transfer to another 0% card. I had a look about and Tesco seemed like a good choice. I want something with cheap balance transfers as I have £2099.30 to transfer. I'm so annoyed as I've over paid my cc this month and with interest and stupid lifestyle protect;which I thought would have been cancelled when I put in my PPI claim--and hasn't been, I'm actually going backwards!
So I tried to apply for a tesco CC but kept getting an error saying they were temporarily unavailable. Is this some fault with them or are they just declining me? I'm gonna ring them tomorrow and try to apply that way, I'm just worried that I keep getting this error.
Even if I do get accepted for Tesco I'm doubtful that it will be large enough to transfer the whole balance onto it. If that is the case would you try and get another 0% CC and split the debt between them?
I am going to really make an effort to pay off my debt this year, I just don't want most of what I'm paying back to be sucked up in interest!

Not sure whether Tesco have system issues but I recently transferred a balance to a Barclaycard Platinum card. they have various 0% offers and low balance transfer fees. Might be worth a look.2014

thanks for the info, i just applied to them and got turned down:( i did the 'apply with confidence' form that then told me what i would likely be accepted for and it was capital one and aqua. capital one may have0% on BTs but it's a huge 34.9 apr with no 0% intro offer from the looks of it:(
so will definitely not be going with them as Virgin's 26% is lower than that!
Maybe I don't earn enough to be accepted, or the £2099 I have on the CC is too much to transfer. I don't know really! Maybe it's just harder to get accepted than it was when I last applied! I've only ever paid off the min in the past so this could be a factor too. That has now changed and I'm paying more off, I wish I'd done this before!
Will try Tesco via the phone tomorrow and if not I'll just have to slug away even harder at getting the debts down!LBM: January 2012

Tesco are a hard lender these days, so before applying check your file including how many applications in the last 6 monthsDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

I've just remembered something else that might have affected my credit score--when I transfered to the Post Office and sent off all the documentation and DDs the snow delayed them and they kept giving me late payment fees. Plus their online service is apalling, but that's a rant for another day:)
I have managed to get a 0% interest and 3% on BTs with Halifax. They offered a max of £1100 which is less than I wanted, but it'll go a long way to stopping that nasty interest. That will leave just under £900 on the virgin card, and I think instead of trying to find another CC to put this on, I'll just throw all my money at this until it's cleared and then start on the HSBC one, then the Halifax one.
The thought of trying to apply for another CC is giving me hot sweats, so for my sanity I'm not going to apply for another one!
Thanks for all the help guys; it's really surprising how much more difficult it is trying to get a CC than it was the last time I tried.
Of course I didn't have quite so much debt then lol!LBM: January 2012
