15 months, 1 Wedding, 1 Car, 1 Visa.

Options
A little introduction;

I live in england with my american fiancee, for now. On June the 17th 2013, we are getting married, and shortly afterwards, moving to Pennsylvania to start our new lives!

This poses a few financial problems that need taking care of.

As of 21/3/2012 i owe GMAC £4844.34
The VISA for America is £1500
The Wedding is estimated at £5000

Total: £11,344.34

Until i wrote that figure i don't think i quite understood the colossal amount i need to save in such a short space of time. This is going to be hard work, to say the least.

I work full time as an unskilled labourer, and i earn around £21k pa.
I am working on Matched Betting to top up my income.

I will use this thread to motivate me into trying my very best.

No more unneccesary spending.

Thanks for reading!

After looking through my paperwork that GMAC has sent, the APR is 20.9%!

So, tonight, i ordered a mastercard from Halifax @ 0% on new purchases, and a mastercard from M&S @ 0%. Both last 15 months.

I haven't yet recieved the credit limits but the estimated limit for the halifax card is £2700, so i would definitely need two cards to pay the full limit.

Paying for my car via credit card will incur a 2.5% charge on the balance remaining. This move would save me thousands in interest if i can pay the money off in the intro period.

    4800 / 15 months = 320 per month.

Also, a few weeks ago i used £500 of my savings to secure a date at our chosen wedding venue!

Very happy with this, as it is one less thing to worry about! I will be using MSE for wedding budget tips, very excited.
