Hi all long time reader, first time poster..
Any way what I need to know is what is the cheapest way to borrow £1400 ? I was thinking 0% credit card but do they charge for cash withdrawels and do you loose the 0% ? Also it will be paid back within the alotted time.
Its got to be pretty quick as my van has died and im selfemployed with little money now.

What is your credit rating like?
Do you know if you qualify for a card?

If you do get a card will the garage not accept card payments - if so a 0% on purchases would be your best bet.
  • Thanks for the reply, Yeah the other half has good rating, Its a private sale so it'll be cash only. Is there a way around or a cheap alternative ?

There are a few 0% balance transfer cards that allow you to do a money transfer money to your current account - though this does then incur a balance transfer fee.

Whether that might work out as the cheapest way will depend on how long it will take you to repay the credit.

  • It will be paid back before the 0% ends 14 or 15 months depending which is the best offer.

The cards that offer transfers to current accounts are cards issued by MBNA, and post office cards.

There is also a route with M&S and Tesco whereby they have 0% purchase cards, you buy sterling travellers cheques from them, and then pay those cheques into your current account.
List of such cards here - http://www.stoozing.com/sbt.php
