Hi all I'm new to being a Credit Card Tart, and would like to know when the best time to apply for a balance transfer is. Is it AFTER I've received my next credit card statement, and do I have to inform them how much the transfer is for? I'd be grateful for any advice.

Well they cant guess how much your BT is for so yes, you would need to tell them!
And if you have been given a promo rate for a BT, best time to do it is as soon as possible to make fullest use of the rate. Make sure you clear any interest bearing balance off your card first though.0
