Hi folks - I am after some advice please.
After copying the fixed letter off this site asking for details of my previous loan, I sent it along with my £1 on 07/02/2012.
As I had not had a reply, I then sent another letter (this time recorded delivery) on 19/03/2012 with a copy of the first one asking them to reply post haste but, as yet, have heard nothing back.
My question is, how long should I have to wait and what can I do to speed things along?
Thanks for reading.

Is this loan still running and what details do you need?.
If this loan is closed they will not give you any info, you need to do a SAR and request all info they hold on you

This will cost £10 and get you the info you need.
If this is for a mis sell claim, what year did you take this out and was it through FP or a broker?.0 -
I dont think first plus did direct sales, it was all broker sold, so I doubt they sold or mis-sold you anything.0

The loan was paid up about 6 years ago and was taken out approximately 7 years ago.
It was taken out direct through Firstplus and as I no longer have the relevant paperwork, I used the template off this site and wrote to them asking for a copy of the original agreement to ascertain whether PPI was included in the loan or not.
I am yet to receive a reply.0 -
I have now received a reply from Firstplus and can begin my claim.
The loan was taken out on 08/09/2004. I am assuming I am still within the timeframe to claim? The loan amount was £54500 with a PPI of £10,861.85 which was immediately added to the loan.
I settled the loan on 09/02/2006 with an amount of £64,992.43 which I am assuming contained a very large chunk of PPI.
I will now fill out the claim form as given on this site and will await their response. Based on the above, does anyone see any major obstacles to my claim?0 -
I claimed the PPI back on a loan I had that was around the same amount as yours. They were pretty quick with me, exactly 8 weeks from receiving my complaint I got an offer and three weeks after that I got the cheque. Oh, and it was a pretty nice big cheque too. So hang on in there, it's worth the wait and the do seem to be not messing around now and refunding on front loaded PPI.0

I just rang the FP customer service number providing you can provide name, address and answer a security question they will give you the info over the phone. Mine was through a broker though I was sure it wasn't but then I had refinanced which meant it was through first plus. So its definately worth a try.
If you phone the customer service number, the first choice they give you is ppi dept, they are really helpful.no longer miserable in debt.... :T but dont know how to change my id!!:beer:0 -
I have now filled out the forms supplied online on this site and sent them back to Firstplus.
Keeping my fingers crossed now for a speedy and positive conclusion.0
