suncream and holidaying alone

Hi all!
well, I have finally gotten around to booking my holiday but I have a bit of a strange question for those who have gone on holiday alone...
how do you put suncream evenly on your back?!?!
Im thinking it would be easier with sun oil spray (which suits me better as for some reason I burn with cream) but all past holidays I have been with someone who has helped rub it in etc!

Unless you're confident enough to ask people on the beach to help out....
My mum got a paint roller! (The sort with a long handle for behind radiators but a mini gloss roller head) She didn't use it on the beach, just in the hotel before going.
Said it must have looked funny but no-one saw her and it worked!
Fortunately she then started going on holiday with companies like Solos for groups of single travellers, so she had other single travellers around to help her out.
I guess you could also take an old towel, spray a load down your back and then gently rub the towel over it (holding it in both hands, like when drying your back) to spread it out. Danger would be in rubbing it off though.0 -
It wouldn’t bother me asking people but it then means that I have to strike up a conversation with them etc and to be honest I don’t want to be doing that!
I will see some friends a couple of times while Im there - one of our friends is getting married but I purposely chose to stay in a different hotel so I get my own holiday and not having to always ask others what they want to do (theres about 35 of us going!)
the paintroller sounds a good idea!!0 -
If you can get a spray that sprays in any direction, that would work for you. I mean not a pump spray, but one that works even holding it upside down. That's what I use, and it's brilliant

If you do use a spray, be very careful if it goes on the floor in your room as it will make it very slippery.0

I don't have a problem... I've got long arms.0

The roller sounds a good idea but I have seen some spongy type back sponges on long handles that would do the trick - Home Bargains/Superdrug should have them.......given me the idea now.SallyD0

I havent been on holiday on my own but sometimes Ill sunbathe whilst DH does something else, and I just put some cream on the front of my fingers to get the bit right in the middle of your back near the top, and then use my hands to do the rest that I can reach more easily. Its not too hard really!0

Hi
Holiday'd on my own last year for the first time and I bought a foot file from homebargains for 49p and cellotaped a make remover pad to it and it reached the bits I couldn't, I also used a shoe horn with a pad attached. Always use one a day and do it in the hotel before I go (do that regardless if alone or with someone to allow it time to sink in properly and not miss anywhere!).Aim to win in 2013 - a holiday somewhere nice, New York break, treats for family & friends & some cash would be lovely!!!0 -
I just use the aerosol spray ones, it covers everything! Have fun
