Vanquis

Hi all, After some help...

We moved house 19 months ago and changed our address with Vanquis and subsequently recived correspondance at our new address. We then didn't hear from them until 2 months ago stating that we were over our credit limit.

We rang to say where were all the statements for 16 months, how did they allow us to go over and why hadn't they let us know.

Vanquis stated that we hadn't changed our address - we have proof from them to confirm they had acknowledged our address change and that they want the the money to bring us back below our credit limit now.

We offered to up the monthly payments - we hadn't missed a payment once but they refused saying their policy won't allow it and that we have to make payments by debit card.

The question is: Using a debit card means they can take what they want when they want but they have stated its either 5% of balance or whole balance - they won't increase our monthly payment. Can they do this?

Thanks

MJGB

Thanks for replying. When you use a debit card there is no direct debit guarantee so once you give them the details of your debit card and say take £50.00, they can up the figure and then tell you its a mistake!!! Try getting your money back then!!

They also won't accept a standing order either.

So can they refuse to up your direct debit amount?
