Cat food tins Vs pouches

I have two elderly cats that are thankfully not fussy eaters so any reasonable brand (or non-branded food) that is on special offer will do nicely, thank you very much :T
I give them a combination of dried and 'wet' food.
I was just wondering as pouches seem to dominate the pet food aisles these days whether it is more expensive than tinned food?
Has anyone done the sums?
Thoughts anyone?

Pouches are considerably more than tins ..... eg Well known brand
Tins (12 x 400g) = £6 or £1.25 / kg
Pouches (12 x 100g) = £3.68 or £3.07 / kg.
Obviously there are offers now & then (I never pay more than £2.50 for 12 x 100g pouches) but still more expensive than tinned (which will also have offers)
Similar cost difference between all the brands & sm own - if they'll eat tins, stick to them (lucky you not having fussy cats!)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)
2016 Sell: £125/£250
£1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000

Tins are much cheaper.
I buy tins, use a spare lid and keep them in the fridge. You're paying for convenience with the pouches. What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0
