My DH is trying to watch 24 but there is a really off putting commentary with it, assume its for blind people maybe? Does anyone know how to get rid of this, we assume one of the kids has messed with the remote!

It must be a technical problem with telewest/Virgin.
We are having the same problem with the commentary.....it is so annoying:mad:
Could this be related to the Sky/Virgin on-going fight?????0 -

It seems not to be your set-up but here is how to turn it on and off in normal circumstances
Audio Description on Telewest
How to set up and use audio description on Telewest
Press the Home button on your Telewest remote control. The Home button is the large oval shaped button, towards the top end of the remote control. When you press the Home button, a panel of nine boxes opens up on your television screen. There will be a yellow highlighting box around the middle box as the curser always defaults to the middle box. If you have a different type of remote control - one without a Home button - you should find four service buttons at the bottom row, and any of these will do. In this case, the Exit button is on the right hand side above the four buttons, to the lower right of the cursor dial.
Each of the nine boxes contains a sub-heading, and you need to navigate to the Settings & Services box. To do this, use the arrow keys on your remote control by pressing the down arrow once and the left arrow once. This should place the yellow highlighting box around the Settings & Services box and you should now press the OK button located in the middle of the arrow keys to accept the selection.
This should take you into the Settings & Services menu, where you will find a further nine boxes and here the box you need to access is the one for Display & Audio. To navigate to the Display & Audio box, press the up arrow once and the right arrow once. This should place the yellow highlighting box around the Display & Audio box. You should now press the OK button located in the middle of the arrow keys to accept the selection.
This will mean you are now within the Display & Audio menu and there should be a list of headings on the left-hand side of your television screen. On the right-hand side of each heading is the actual setting status for each of the headings on the left. The different settings, and the order they are listed in are as follows:
1. Display Mini Guide
2. Set TV Display Format
3. Set TV Output Colour Format
4. Display Subtitles
5. Enable Audio Description
6. Reminder Before Programme Starts
7. Adjust Volume
To access the Audio Description, use the down arrow key (four times) on your remote control to scroll down to the Enable Audio Description and then use the right arrow key to set it to ON. You will now need to press the OK button to accept the setting and leave this menu.
After accepting the setting above, to close out of the menu system completely, press the TV button on the remote control.
You should now have enabled the audio description facility on your Telewest digital box.0 -
That didnt work but the screen froze and now seems to be back to normal.

My B/f was having trouble watching "24" the screen kept going blank. It went off totally at about 9:30 and didn't come back on til just before 10:00.
Some of the other channels went off but not all. We tried rebooting but it didn't work.
Did anyone else have the same problem? Please Thank Me
Thank You0 -
If you've seen Signs with Mel Gibson then you should start wearing tinfoil hats cos the aliens are sending signals through your Virgin boxes and messing with the signal :rotfl:Always looking for a bargain and to help0
