Hi,
i have just been made redundant after 10 years the pre-school closed down ...who is ment to pay my redundancy...the pre-school was committee run....with a chairman. I also was not paid any wages for the previous month. The chairman is saying they are not liable to pay our wages, four of us...

This depends on exactly who your employer was, and depending on their status, whether they are still in a position to pay. If the pre-school was a charitable trust, for example, then you may well find that the individual Trustees are liable, but you will need to find that out and then write to them requesting payment. Do you have a contract or any paperwork which tells you who your employer is and what kind of entity it is?0

Yes the pre-school was a charity, however the chairman is saying he is not liable...but he said he will look into it further...but i dont know what to do...also routeways have assisted in selling pre-school stock...so dont know whats next...havent recieved our p45...either...0

If there are a few of you affected and assuming you are not in a union it may well be worth you clubbing together to see a solicitor - who is liable could depend on a lot of factors and they will be able to tell you exactly what information you need.0
