Hi,
Can anyone advise of any free (or cheap) software to download to stop my son from accessing his games, maybe something that I can specify certain times he can go on for.
Also on a side note, I have purchased a new laptop so installed itunes, I have managed to transfer my purchased items into the library as it is stored in my itues, but i can't seem to get the non purchased via itunes songs into the library from my iphone
Many thanks.

Create a new log on profile on Windows and block rights to install anything may be the easiest solution0

If he is anything like my grandson he will be playing his games and you will be locked out.
You can find out how to get round anything like that at school, never mind the internet.0 -
I wasn't going to offend the OP by stating that obvious point, I'm just answering his direct question....but yes, v easy solutions to work around if the kid is bright0

Have to agree, anything you're trying to do to block things like games will be easily bypassed by any bright child. Moderation and observation on the laptop is the key. Watch, and consequences are the best method.
Does it give any error as to why the songs aren't copied over, or does it just ignore them? If they're on your iphone, you can use a few programs to copy them off, but no experience of using them. SharePod, copytrans to name two.0 -
On Windows 7 you set his profile to log out automatically at certain points, I know my parents do this to restrict my brother, he ends up being able to access his profile every other hour for an hour up to 10pm...0

Just copy the iTunes folder from the old PC/laptop the new laptop and everything will be sorted.
Apple don't like people copying from mobile devices to PC but it is possible with a little effort.
For us Mac users there's a free program called Senuti, I'm sure one of the Windows users will be along shortly with something similar. One by one the penguins are slowly stealing my sanity.0 -
