JSA clothing allowance

Is this fact or fiction ?
A friend has been on Job Seeker's Allowance for a while so has struggled financially meaning he does not have any smart work clothes, for an office based job.
Is there really a clothing allowance and would this let him buy a few smart items of clothing, ready for his Monday morning start.

What about ADF - Advisers Discretionary Fund - they can agree to fund certain things, especially if it helps a claimant with a job. Some won't mention it because it involves paperwork, used to be more but think its about £100 now. eed to give them a few days to get it sorted though.0 -
Just looked that up and some years ago it says if you get to 12 mths you can not apply for that (whatever it is)What about ADF - Advisers Discretionary Fund - they can agree to fund certain things, especially if it helps a claimant with a job. Worth a go, got to be claiming at least 6mths I think. Some advisers will resist because they can't be bothered. They might tell you to go to xyy shop and get prices for this and that etc as sometimes they have set shops you can go to. They can also stump up for passports if you haven't got photo ID. Just gotta push them.

What if you are on the Work Programme?0 -
Also, it's only your adviser who can authorise the payment, not the person you sign on with.0

You still get the Back To Work Grant of £100 if you have not worked for 6 mths or more0
