I ordered an item and paid for it. As it didnt arrive when i was promised i rang and cancelled the order, i was then told i would be called later that day and given a refund. The next morning i was finally called and given a refund. Two hours later the item turned up!!
The thing is it didnt go to my house it went to the same house number round the corner, they werent in so their neighbours took it in. After the courier had gone they then looked at the address label and noticed it was actually for me not their neighbours so they called me and i went and collected it.
So shall i tell them what a bunch of incompetent idiots they are or just leave this item (£1500 bike) in its box in teh corner of my living room and see just how long it takes them to realise what theyve done? if they ever do that is
So what are my chances do we think of keeping it? Im thinking ill get a call in the next few days asking f they can have their bike back lol

im thinking this applies
A person is guilty of theft if he dishonestly appropriates property belonging to another with the intention of permanently depriving the other of it;0 -
You have a legal obligation to take reasonable care of the item.
Legally it belongs to the retailer and as such they can retrieve the bike at their own expense or chase you for damages if you misplace it.
Also it doesn't matter if it was delivered to a different address, as soon as you were made aware of the error and collected the item you still retain the same liabilities.
I'd inform them so they can collect it. Theres a very long statue of limitations.0 -
Ive just emailed them saying you've delivered an item i didn't ask for to my address
So Ive done my bit. Although technically Ive paid for it as my refund hasn't gone through but when the bloke took my card details he did it whilst i was there and said it will take 3-5 days to show back on my credit card..will see if whoever picks up my email gives a damn lol0 -

All you have to do now is leave the box in the corner of your living room for six years and then you are free to sell it.0 -
Seems a bit odd that the delivery time on a £1500 bike should be so critical that you'd cancel the order less than 24 hours after them missing the delivery time.
Seems a bit odd to say "you've delivered an item i didn't ask for to my address" instead of "you delivered an item I ordered to the wrong address and I have since cancelled the order, please collect within 7 days at a time that is convenient to me".loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.0 -

I think ops hoping it can be classed as 'unsolicited'.
Something doesn't seem quite right about this thread also.0
