Leaving rented property questions

Given notice to LL, 12 March - 2 month break clause in tenancy. Moving to new property on Friday this week. (buying)

My questions are this:
New tenant moving in 21 April, paid until 22nd April (rent is due on 22nd of each month) so he will owe me a days rent - I suspect will never see that again! Its about 30 quid.

Fair wear and tear, lived in property for 2 years 8 months. My questions are:
1. Carpets throughout house are very OLD - they have gone grey along edges, probably dust ground in - we vacuum a lot but they are so old.
2. Carpets in bathroom and cloakroom! The bathroom one stained, water stains, but who has carpet in a bathroom? I am worried he will try to get me to buy him a new carpet
3. Bath is a cheapo bath. Near the plug hole the coating has come off the bath - looks like its worn away - I do not want to be liable for this.

The carpets were VERY worn when we moved in - whole house tired and needs overhauling - its got worse. He found another tenant though, so clearly someone likes it! Its a nice area I suppose, so thats probably why.

The LL inventory was ridiculous - everything GOOD condition. I did my own inventory which was an amendment to his and emailed this to letting agent a few days after I moved in.

    Have are read of this:
    Avoiding Betterment & Considering Apportionment
    http://www.arla.co.uk/information/deposit-protection/betterment-and-apportionment/

    e.g.

"2. In the rare circumstances where damage (to the worktop/carpet/mattress) is so extensive or severe to the item so as to affect the achievable rent level/lettability or quality of the property the most appropriate remedy might be to apportion costs according to the age and useful lifespan of the item. An example of how this might be calculated is as follows:-"

And then there are examples of how to consider the actual age of the item and it's expected lifespan. I doubt the old carpets are worth much.
