debt left behind.

Hello,

I am new to this site and would like some info about credit card debt thats left behind after we moved out the country....!!!!

Me and my family have moved out of the country and starting a new life abroad.
We have some debt on a couple of cards mounting to £5000 and a small bank loan with an outstanding amout of £2000. We have always intended to pay these off and the payments every month, Which we have been doing so. But we have found that we are struggling a bit in the new country that we have moved to.
We are looking at contacting the card companies to ask if they would freeze the interest and maybe lower the amount we pay each month.
Has anybody here done this before and could you offer any advise. I have been looking for template letters to freeze the interest but with no luck on here either.

Thank you

Ivory's.
