Car insurance companies you can email?

Options
Would really appreciate it if people could post who their insurers are and whether or not they accept emails from customers.I recently tried to email the Co-op with a very general renewal question and found that they don't list an email address for customers. I dug out an old one from way back and used that. Asked to be provided with an email address to use and was told you can't email you have to telephone.

After a nightmare with the Co-op last renewal time (long boring story but I got £50 when I complained) I wanted everything in writing this time so I had a record of what they said. Sounds like that is no longer possible. So I'm looking to switch and wondered if the no emails thing was standard now or if it is a one off by the Co-op.

Aviva have live chat which is better than e mailing. A copy of the 'conversation' is emailed to you for your records.
  • Thanks Davey.

I think while I am still with the Co-op I may write to them and send it recorded delivery. That will annoy them. Hopefully.

  • something i do now is RECORD the call on my mobile phone.

If they say can we call back, just pick up and tell them to wait two seconds whilst you plug the charger in (just start recording from there).

A few years ago someone inputted the details wrong into THE INSURERS computer.
they sent me documents through the post. When i checked them and i phoned them to correct the mistake they wanted another £800+.

If i didnt have the recording then i would have had no evidence and would have had insurance cancelled.

Elephant insurance accept emails. However sometimes the reply bears little relation to the question lol and it can take several days before a reply comes. So I find I still have to phone them. I think they just get too many emails and because they don't want to incriminate themselves or leave any possibility of liabilty they only reply in general terms and it's pretty much a waste of time emailing in my experience.
