Stay with Halifax ultimate reward account or move to Barclays?

Hi all, I currently have a Halifax ultimate reward current account which I am looking to turn into a joint account for the wife and I.

We are in the process of taking out a mortgage with Barclay's and as part of this we have been given a joint bank account. We must have an account open with them as part of the mortgage however we do not have to use it.

I am trying to think about if to stay with the Halifax and get them to turn my account into a joint account or if to move to the Barclay's.

I do use the AA feature on the Halifax account so not sure how that would be affected if I cancel or turn it into a joint account. I upgraded the AA part a few months back.

Do you use anything apart from the AA part? If not then it could be cheaper just to get normal AA cover instead of paying the money to halifax.

Also it's worth keeping the halifax account open as a reward account as then just transfer in £1000 a month and get a free £5

That does help thanks. I also use the travel insurance, card care and mobile phone cover. I am happy with the benefits I think for the cost, I am just thinking if there are any benefits in moving to Barclays now I have an open joint account with. I guess it will be easy enough changing my Halifax account to a joint account anyway??

Change the Halifax account to a joint account and then open 2 Halifax sole accounts in your own names. Get £180/year net (£225 gross) free, therefore the ultimate account is now free.

Sounds like a plan. In which case leave the Barclays alone and not use it. When I change my ultimate reward account to a joint account do all the benefits become joint? I have upgraded things like the AA and at the moment it is only applicable to me but I want it to be used by us both when a joint account.
