The Law is an !!!... Vent/Rant

I rented out my dads house when he died because I have no pension and was advised it was the best thing to do... I understood the risks and now have a tenant that has not paid the rent for 4 months refuses to do so and has changed the locks.
The solicitor told me how hard it is to get them out because the LAW is on their side they are so protected it is unbelievable. I am a nice law abiding person and feel ashamed of the law and how it can work against "the good people of the uk.
My house is at risk now because I am having to pay 2 mortgages and am struggling, they can get legal aid I cannot, My solicitor quoted £750-£1000 just to get to the eviction stage never mind court and bayliff fees..she just told me I should be thankful the law used to be even more on their side...very helpful.
I feel better for venting, thanks for listening

Unfortunately renting out a house is a business and you need to grow the thick skin (and deep pockets) required to deal with such occurrence. This is why being a landlord should not be entered into lightly as it really is a minefield. Getting "professional" tenants that you have is the tip of the iceberg, if you do get them out expect to need to spend thousands putting their damage right.
Good luck, landlord zone is a good starting point.Thinking critically since 1996....0
