hello i hope someone can answer a question for me
i am on a dro at the moment which ends in around 6 months time
me and my other half want to move intogether but know this cant happen whilst being subject to a dro
is it safe to say once my dro is over that he can move in straight away or would they see it that i could have improved my circumstances before my dro ended and instead held off until after or will this be ok? could my dro be revoked if he moves in after the 12 month dro?

I'm looking at getting a DRO myself, and I've been told by National Debtline nobody cares what I do after the 12 months is up. I could start paying my family back if I wanted.
It's pretty harsh that you can't move in together?? Is that what your intermediary told you?sillymoo2012 wrote: »me and my other half want to move intogether but know this cant happen whilst being subject to a dro0 -
No I presumed that as him moving in would change my financial situation to the point I would probably have more than £50 disposable that it would revoke my dro and I don't want to risk that! Am I right to think along those lines?
It's hard, really hard because he lives about half an hour away we only get to sed each other weekends because of work, real hard!0 -

I can't see why not? Are you thinking that your expenditure will be reduced?
Don't forget you're allowed £50 surplus per month.
If you think the new situation will breach that limit, run through the figures with your Intermediary.0 -
Well.... With outgoings from the flat being technically halved of what I pay now because we would be splitting down the middle as such it would give me more money personally! We have held off for a while as I've said not until the dro is done n over so we can start from a clean slate but it's just so hard!
I know council tax will increase 25% and elec n gas would increase a little, n groceries but I dont think it would increase to the point my disposable would be under £50.... Maybe I'm wrong!
Does the OR need to be told if he moves in if it doesn't make my disposable income more than £50?
Sorry for all the questions0 -

Other thing to consider is that you dont have to declare his entire income and expenditure. If he earns less than you, would you split bills 50/50? As an advisor I would say he contributes to rent, bills, food etc, but the remainder of his income is his and not on your budget. CT, gas and electric, and food etc are going to increase for the 2 of you... why not ring your intermediary and run the figures by them to see if it's viable. If it's not, you know to wait, if the budget will fit, go ahead!0 -
Thanks for the replies!
I think we are going to carry on as we are until my DRO is complete! I dont want to rock the boat with the DRO, last thing I want is to make things complicated now and end up with a possible chance of my disposable being over £50 and having the DRO revoked. I dont think its worth the risk so we'll be patient and wait it out....most sensible idea i think!0
