Confused - protected by section 75?

I'm a little confused. Hopefully, somebody here can give me the answer.
Basically, would we be covered by section 75?

We live abroad but have UK bank accounts, house, mortgage, credit card, savings accounts and address.

We will be spending 5 weeks travelling around China this summer and are employing the services of a UK specialist agency to book our train tickets (2 adults and 2 kids).

If they were to go into administration, would we be covered by section 75?

The total for 4 overnight train journeys is £1214.

Thanks,
Evi3000

If the agency you paid went into adminstration - probably.
If the train company / whomever the UK agency actually booked with went into administration then no.

Section 75 refunds: Free protection for ALL spending...

Its possible they may argue that the train tickets were individual transactions - but presumably given the total cost each individual ticket was above the £100 minimum value for section 75.

Thank you. They would be buying from the Chinese Rail Companies - I doubt they'll go into administration.

    Thanks for your help.

Agree with analysis above. I would only add that if you were holding the CC as a result of a misrepresentation (eg you lied about your residency) then the CC would be off the hook. Don't mean to sound rude!

This is my worry. We are non resident but the credit card knows we live abroad - well, we've told them enough times because they have stopped payments in the past, but that doesn't mean they've taken note.

If I were to pay £100 by credit card and the rest by bank transfer I assume I would still be covered (unless the residency becomes an issue)?

You don't need to pay £100, you can pay as little as £1 as long as what you are purchasing is between £100 and £30000.
