hiya folks! Got back at 5am and already missing my lovely Moroccan sunshine. Brought back a few litres of argan oil (cosmetic and cooking) and loads of lovely black olive soap.
Was thoroughly unimpressed with the birthday Glossybox, I have to say. One item that I really like and am pleased with and the rest was just tat, in my opinion.
(LOVING the idea of putting spoilers in white text by the way. You are all so clever - I would never have thought of that!)
Assuming that everyone has got their boxes now, I will say that I got a full-sized Neals Yard Remedies Rose face cream, two pathetic little perfume samples, a brown Collection 2000 eyeliner, Noble Isle shower gel, the now-ubiquitous pair of false eyelashes, a BG mirror and.................wait for it..............A PINK BALLOON!
The NYR cream will get used, as will the mirror. The eyeliner is brown so no use to me but apart from it being the wrong colour, it is also rather lacking in luxury.
Don't get me wrong, I have plenty of Collection 2000 items in my make up cases, but I buy them because they are cheap and cheerful and if I don't like them it hasn't been too much of a waste of money. My problem is that I don't expect to find that sort of brand in a "premium beauty box".
The shower gel is obviously not going to apeal to me as it is all chemicals but I accept that that is down to my own personal tastes.
Perfumes will go on ebay along with the lashes - I might even put the balloon up for sale for 1p just to see what happens :rotfl:
[STRIKE]I also made the same mistake as elisebutt65 - didn't realise that Lux Box wasn't
a rolling sub - so I missed out on that box.[/STRIKE] Scrap that, just checked bank and the money went out on 2nd May so hopefully I'll get the box in the next day or two
I had an email offering a JolieBox for £5 so might give that a go. I might also sign up for the 60% off SSB sub.
I've tried to update the OP with the new offers but nudge me with anything I've missed.Living with Lupus is like juggling with butterflies0 -
emailed SSB to complain about too many eyelashes and the peek misleading people about what is in boxes(I thought you had all items tho only 1 set of lashes of course!) and they replied straight away which I thought was good:)and said they'd take on board what I said0

Welcome back PurpleB, we actually had 'summer' weather last week, this week is another matter though! And you're lucky you got the NYR cream - I would have loved that! Does popping all the little bits on Ebay really sell? I'm going to have loads of lashes, samples and eyeliner stuff that I dont want but not sure if it will sell and dont want to go to the hassle of putting it up if it doesnt! Would it be better to put up 5/6 things together? Help!
I got the LB dispatch email, but no post today, Sheffield post totally sucks, I miss the days of post arriving before lunchtime back home in Herts. Oh well hopefully tomorrow! No buying un-necessary toiletries challenge - Start total: 235. Current total: 273!!0 -

Thanks hun - glad you all had some sunshine too.
As far as ebay goes, samples sell really well. Lots of people want to try things without committing to a full-sized product. You might not get a lot for them but even 50p is better than throwing things away.
I won a 5ml sample of the expensive Estee Lauder night serum when it first came out. Full-sized it cost £70 so my little sample attracted quite a few bids and I made £12 on it
People either sell single samples or, if it is a 1ml sachet etc, they may sell a bundle of 10 sachets for 99p. I'm talking about ones you get free in magazines etc too!
Just signed up for my £5 JolieBox. I'm pretty sure that the only one I'll stick with long-term is Amarya thoughLiving with Lupus is like juggling with butterflies0 -
I am clicking to buy now on the LIB box but says no products available. Does that mean it is sold out already?0

Hi peeps,
Well I thought I would just get a one off glossybox but loved it so much that I have decided on getting a joliebox too (knew I would get addicted hehe). Just wondered if there are anymore codes or offers around like previous posters.0 -
Lot of complaints from LuxBox subbies, they look to be having an awful lot of problems. And also charging people for June box tomorrow when the May box hasn't even arrived.
Growing pains are understandable, but I wonder how long they will last at this rate.:j0 -
Has anyone got a £5 joliebox code i could have ?? i really fancy trying them out .... many thanks0

I got my SSB box today and absolutely loved it. It seems there were 2 variations being sent out and I got the two products that were more suitable for me
spoilers in white:
I'm really glad I got the St Tropez spray as the lotion came in a medium/dark shade and I'm far too pale for that.
Also extremely happy with the body butter, not only is it worth more that the hand cream but I also HATE lavender, so the hand cream would have probably gone to my grandmother
I'm also waiting for my Lux Box, which hopefully should be here tomorrow.
Been debating all afternoon whether to get the latest in beauty box and now it's sold out. Really dislike rose smelling things, so it was probably for the best.£9500/£10000 baby fund saved so far0
