I didn't even bother mentioning this months Glossybox, it was just dire. Two items I had also received in previous boxes.
But my Birchbox came today and it's okay.
The lip stain benetint dupe is poor.
I got a mousse for wavy hair which is not nice.
There was a sample pot of an overnight face mask which I will try when I have a full day at home, there's no way I'm getting face mask goop all over my pillow and hair!
I got another Dr Lipp nipple balm for lips - it's alright. I've had three of them in beauty boxes now and I like it, wouldn't purchase though.
A Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser. I think October is an odd time to give away a summer product. About now I switch to foundation. Plus it's too dark for me, because my summer colour has gone. I'll put it aside for summer next year.
The best products were the 'extras'. Three sachets of Egyptian Magic face cream, and a whitening toothpaste sample.
I'm not excited about this box this month - especially as I tried the products out this morning and now have crispy rat tail hair, an orange face and unflattering blue-pink coloured lips.
But it was still better than Glossybox!0 -

:rotfl::rotfl: oh you made me laugh out loud with your last comment!
I'm still waiting for mine and was also disappointed with this months Glossybox0 -
Really pleased with my Birchbox.Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser. I normally use BB creams, but keen to try this. Shade is nude, will have to see how well it matches my skin.
Dr Brandt microdermabrasion skin exfoliant. Saw this as a spoiler on FB and was hoping I'd get it. Looking forward to trying it.
KMS California silk sheen styling creme. Lightweight formula apparently, so should suit my hair.
theBalm cosmetics Stainiac lip and cheek stain. The sort of product I'l always really keen to try but only ever use once. Well, that was my experience with Benetint anyway :rotfl:
Dr Lipp nipple balm for lips. Haven't tried this before, sounds like it'll be ideal for winter though.
UltraDex interdental brushes, pack of 30 with little travel case. These have gone straight into my bag.
Egyptian Magic multi purpose cream x 3 sachets. Have read about this and have been keen to try.
So nothing there that won't get used and a couple of things that have been on my want list for a while.0 -
LuxBox has now been taken over by Box-Delux and my subscription cancelled, so I was sent my final box a Box-Delux 'taster' edition for LuxBox subscribers only. This was much better than the 1/2 price box I tried previously.
There is also an introductory offer for LuxBox subscribers which is very tempting. £13.95 for the first box, then £19.95 for the next 3 months.
I received:
A Naked bar - Gobbled immediately :rotfl:
3 x Teapigs Teabags (Morning Glory variety)
RevitaLash Advanced Lash Conditioner (approx £98 ) - This makes your lashes longer and thicker apparently after a few weeks use. Will be interesting to try.
Aden Liquid Lipstick (Shade 13, Sweet Peach approx £6) - This is actually quite a pink shade, and stays on the lips for ages
DermaSalve Body Cream (100ml, approx £6) - For dry and sensitive skin
4 x Blend Collective sample pots of various hand, and body creams - I've tried them before, and these are sumptious. Full of essential oils, and natural ingredients
Illuminum Vaporizor Perfume sample set (Floral Collection, 4 x 1.5ml vials (The full set of 16 costs £25))New forum. New sig. Yes I still need to lose 2 stone!0 -
sorry gentleorange that your birchbox was so disappointing - at least you gave us a laugh with your comments.
I do love the laura mercier tinted moisturisers, but obviously no point if its the wrong shade for you.
what was in your GB?
After this months Lovelula box, I've cancelled that subscription so I now just have the Youbeauty one and the lovemebeauty subscriptions.0 -
Hi. I have been looking at signing up to a beauty box for sometime but am quite overwhelmed by how many their are and which is the best. I love make up and would love to sample things before I buy them. Can anyone help me choose???No buying toiletries in 2013:cool:0

I suggest you to wait and see what products each box will roughly contain before you buy one. It really depends on what you like. I probably wouldn't buy any of the products I have received. For me, the best boxes are the ones that I am going to use anyway with items I want to use and try e.g. Balance me box or betrousse (now the betrousse boxes left are not so great).0 -
Thanks for replying. I had never even heard of betrousse!!!!! Glossy box def wasn't an option due to the bad reviews even though it was initially my first choice. Lovemebeauty seems good as you can choose what you receive or birchbox as I think I would probably use the items more so than some others. God I'm baffled. Just wanted to order something as a little treat for myself each month :-/No buying toiletries in 2013:cool:0
