Redundant- Morgage insurance want to know what jobs I have applied for

Options
I was made redundant in late January and have got the forms through to claim for the mortgage paymentcare. They want to know what jobs I have applied for and I have to state at least 3 for each month I have been unemployed.

Are they allowed to ask for this?

I have been paying them every month for the past 10 years, but I take offence to them asking for this information. I was never told that they would ask me for that when I took out the policy. As far as I'm concerned it's between me and my advisor at the jobcentre.

I suggest you tell them that and see how far it gets you!

Don't be silly. This is insurance and you either play by their rules or they won't pay you. If you aren't trying to offset your loss (and their payout) by looking for work, why would they want to pay you? You don't expect to crash your car then refuse to produce the crashed car as evidence that they should pay you for the damage.
  • Sorry but I don't think it's unreasonable either (and will probably be in the small print) - 3 a month isn't a lot.

There will be a clause in your insurance saying you must be actively looking for work, so they are asking for proof. Quite reasonable.

Just apply for some....and keep copies you never know you might get a interview..
It is nice to see the value of your house going up'' Why ?
Unless you are planning to sell up and not live anywhere, I can;t see the advantage.
If you are planning to upsize the new house will cost more.
If you are planning to downsize your new house will cost more than it should
If you are trying to buy your first house its almost impossible.
