23rd March disappoint!

I have just had a chat with a solicitor I use a lot for house issues. she is pulling her hair out and saying people really believe they will be completing on Friday and they just can't.

They are waiting and wishing the budget will extend the stamp duty holiday!

As the budget ended about an hour ago it's not going to happen now.

oh yes -ive got friends "completing" on friday who openly admit that if thre is a complication and they dont complete on friday they have no idea where they are going to get 1500 quid from ........

im completing on friday - all signed and sealed now and just waiting for the money to change hands and keys. but if it doesnt happen ill be gutted that ive lost 2k but i never really intended to be buying before the 23rd so th 2k saved is a bonus to me. i certainly didnt buy a house on such a tight budget that the onset of stamp duty would jeopardise it ...

I would imagine exchange of contracts would be a good indication of completion on Friday.

Those who have exchanged are very likely to complete. Those who haven't are very unlikely to.

Doing the completions will be bade enough. Trying to exchange and complete tomorrow or Friday will be torturous.
