Its all to do with getting a signature on the night so people dont have a chance to think about it, because then......they usually strong arm people by telling them they've already started making them and they'll still have to pay for them because they cant cancel.
They like all homeowners being present. You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
They called me again today... absolutely pathetic excuse for a company. It is beyond a joke now...0

Chill out. You're getting angry and letting it affect you. As I said earlier, you need to twist the situation to your own advantage. Next time make an appointment for new windows, fascias and a conservatory. When the muppet turns up tell them to stop or go out for the evening.:DThe man without a signature.0 -
I would arrange a time when we're both there and then I would excuse myself and leave as soon as they had sat down leaving the rep alone with 'im indoors!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
But then I'm wicked.

2 more calls... my current tactic is to answer the phone and then put it down somewhere while I carry on with whatever I am doing. Seems to work!0

Are they calling your house phone or mobile?
If mobile, is it a smart phone? eg iPhone / Android?
If so, sure there are simple apps out there which will let you block callers pretty easily.
I do it with texts - I get untold spam texts, but whenever I do, I add them to my block list and I'm never notified of them again.0 -
When they phone again, make appointment, agree that your OH will be there. Then when rep calls, say "Sorry but OH unexpectedly called away, won't be back for a day or two, Goodbye" then quickly close door.
They may eventually get the message. If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -
OK, so they have now started leaving long, empty messages on my answerphone when I don't pick up the telephone... my anwerphone mailbox is almost full, but none of the messages have anything in them. Time to get a new telephone number I think!0
