My son has just received a fine from Parking Eye for £60 if paid asap if not the sum rises to £90 then £120.
He went to a local pub/club arriving at 2200 and left just after 0200. He has gone there many times in the last few months and has never paid for parking although there is a machine. He has checked with the bouncers many times about paying but has been told there is no need! (Presumably due to the time as many car parks are free after a certain time?)
I have contacted the pub in question and have been told to contact Parking Eye as they have sent the notice.
Having read about Parking Eye in many forums I am tempted to tell my son not to pay. My main concern is that he didn't purchase a ticket at all, so it didn't expire and it was actually him driving so cannot blame spouse etc.
I would welcome any advice please.

If he wants to pay, tell him to budget £170, that should just about cover the late payment charges that will be charged, even if you dont pay late.
Or alternatively he can just ignore the impersonation of authority scam and all the silly letters that will follow it.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Just ignore. It's not a FINE, it's an unenforceable invoice. The only thing they can claim for is the actual loss suffered by the landowner. Anything above that would be judged an unfair penalty. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Yes, they can pursue him for the cost of the P&D ticket only. All this £60/£90/£120 is just guff. Tell him to ignore the letters he will receive, from parking eye and debt collectors - despite them sounding scary and mentioning all sorts of stuff to do with being taken to court, and having his credit rating ruined forever, and having CCJs for which he could be extradited to the US to stand trial, and his cat being raped, its all absolute crap designed to scare him into paying.
Ignore, and do not contact them.Je Suis Cecil.0 -
whilst all on this forum always advise folk to pay for parking, we do not advise to pay scamsters like parking spy who are well known on here, just read the stickies, also ignore all future threat o grams from p.e. and roxburghe (we have zero powers ) debt collectors,, and the phoney solicitors,, graham white,,all are part of the same scam,, so just 100% ignore,,do not contact in any way shape or form,,,it does not make any difference he did not purchase a parking ticket, just ignore all future threats.relax, feet up, chill.nothing wil/can happen as a result of this fake ticket.0

Yes, just tell him to ignore it. The most he owes them would be the parking fee he didn't pay, but in view of the fact that they have tried to do him for some ridiculous amount I wouldn't bother offering them that. They aren't interested in collecting that anyway, the greedy barstewards will keep asking for more and more (up to £150 usually) in the hope he will panic and cough up; but if he holds his nerve they ALWAYS give up and disappear.

Ignore, ignore ignore!
And check the letter chain sticky so you know what toilet paper to expect from them next. Then tick-it (or wipe it) off one at a time till the end of the scam.0 -
Mrs theHibby is currently ignoring them for the second time. The Final Notice is always such a sad thing to receive as it means they are stopping writing to us.
Must try for another one!0 -
Don't be sad, Al, there is usually more than one Final Notice.
There's the Final Notice. If you ignore that, there's the We Weren't Joking, this Really Is the Final Notice.
And if you ignore that too, there's the We're going to cry now, You Don't Like Us, Do You, Final Notice.
Doncha just love those scammers?
Final Notice doesn't mean they will then do something else. It just means.... er, we won't be contacting you again- goodbye.0 -
Ignore Parking Pie and ignore that pub, tell your friends, family & work collegues to do the same.
Any pub which charges for parking late at night won't last long0
