What you can say is that since the JC do not pay for travel to agencies you can not apply as if and when they want you to go and register you have no money to get there!
When ever the jobcentre say why don't I apply for this or that job, if its with a agency I just say I don't deal with agencys only employers, they say thats fine and we move on.0 -
Well I had another call just now from an agency about a job, 3 months with the possibility of becoming permanent, he said he is gonna put me forward for it if that's ok with me. What does that mean? Don't have much experience with agencies.0

Usually with agencies it just means they'll send your CV/details in as a candidate-it's then up to the employer to say "yes, we're interested in this person" in which case the agency people will contact you again and say "want an interview?"
Had a lot happen where I've been "put forward" but would imagine that they send a thick pile of CVs to the first screening, so I'd say "fine with me" and then wait a few days for them to contact you before following up.English by birth,Kentish/Coventrian by God's graceNumber of jobs applied for: 246 (and counting)0 -

Oh right, so its nothing major then? I was starting to get excited. The only thing going for me is the fact a friend of mine works in the same company so maybe they might put in a word for me.0 -

It's not a guaranteed interview, but it's a good start as if they're actually putting you forward for jobs it means that they're committed to helping customers...been with some agencies where you hear nothing and some where they're ringing you up often to find a job or two.
Looking back on my last post it seemed to play things down a bit...if they're asking to put you forward then you're past the first filtering stage, which is frankly half the battle with agencies.
I'd be hopeful if I were you...:)English by birth,Kentish/Coventrian by God's graceNumber of jobs applied for: 246 (and counting)0 -

Don't take it as gospel that the position will last for 3 months.
I have taken this kind of work from agencies previously when it only turned out to be for a couple of weeks. They can tend to lie or mislead you for want of a better word.
On the other hand of course it could be longer then 3 months and who knows may lead to permanent - Good luck anyhow:)0 -
