On the subject of fast lanes, there is a NSL road up a bank near me. There are 2 lanes going up and 1 lane going down. Ever since the council re-surfaced the road last year they painted "Slow Lane" at the start of the inside lane at the bottom of the bank going up.

Maybe the op marked the road.

That's because they've created a crawler lane for HGVs, it's quite common on busy routes where you get a significant incline.
I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world

Happens a lot on the continent where they have a lot more Autoroutes with some quite stiff gradients . Watch out for the sign ending the crawler lane because that juggernaught will be exiting into the inner lane regardless of what you might be doing.

  • No matter what happened Arnold Clark are not a good company to deal with. I have countless stories of problems with them but when you live in Scotland they pretty much have the market sewn up!

I've had a load of cars from them over the past ten years or so, and never had any problems, always serviced well, always well looked after in branch, I have found several branches over that time who didn't really care about me and my possible purchase but I just walked at that point, thats all you have to do.
Arnold Clark don't have the market completely cornered, there are loads of other independents, you just have to look a little harder, all the big makes have access to their dealer network on their site's and if you don't like AC then just go to another dealer, you may have to travel a little further to get to them but they can also deliver the car to your home address and if you wanta service most will do a collection for the service to be done if you don't want to drive all the way there and back.
Lastly as everyone else has said about the OP looks like a one off posting, and doesn't mention who the last person was to have opened the bonnet/hood, and surely if it was completely unhooked from the safety catch as the OP was accelerating it must've moved at some point, surely it doesn't just hover then suddenly fly up?!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks to all the competition posters.
  • Had your car been in for service? Or repair? How is it Arnold clarks fault?

Bonnet incident happened to me once with my old Lanos, requiring a new windscreen and bonnet. Turned out the whole mechanism including the safety latch had failed when going down the A38. The car had a new timing belt or something a couple of weeks before but I know it was shut properly by the garage (plus I had been at warp 9 every day before the incident down a38). These things can happen op, its not always someones fault, and no it isn't fun being showered in glass, or missing out on a pizza express because you have to wait for mr AA.

You've been watching too many injurylawyers4u adverts.
