The cash basisi small company accounts is a half baked scheme (seen the draft consultion docs) that will save poeple nothing in adinistrative burden

Cash accounting for VAT is/was a good idea for small buusinesses - year end accounts on that basis is an awful badly thought through idea - hope it gets shelved until its been re done

Increasing rate of bank levy so corp tax cuts don't benefit banks

My fear exactly! I wonder if, by taxing on a money that goes through basis, it is also somehow going to be a measure against tax avoidance?

    little change Graham for most.

    Tax system.

    Simplifying taxes as ongoing project.

simpler tax system. Radically change administration of tax for small firms. To be taxed on basis of tax that passes through business rather than profits.

    Merge income tax and NI

    Simplify VAT product classes

Simplify age related allowances for pensioners

Just got in from a bike ride, is there any detail to the merging of income tax and NI yet?

Surely Alcohol duty is one of the easiest ways to increase income to the treasury, based on a consumption of pure choice!?

    Bit bizzare to do nothing.
