Hiya everyone (newbie here), please be patient with me and sorry if I sound a bit dumb. I have had a cc with HSBC for about 6 years, how will I know if I'm paying PPI? I haven't got any statements as I do online banking and the silly iPad won't let me view my statements. I was going to phone a PPI reclaims company but someone told me to try this website so I thought I'd ask you lovely lot. Thank you in advance for your advice

Very easily. It appears on your monthly statement.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -

It does seem rather obvious to look at your statements and see if you are being charged - if it is not listed then it is not being charged.
If you are doing solely online banking entirely with a device which does not allow you to see what is going on with your account then the possibility that you might have been missold PPI is unlikely to be your biggest issue.0 -

Could maybe claim for the mis-selling of an iPad?0 -

Hi There
It will be listed as either Payment Insuranace (more recent statements) or it may be listed as something else on older ones (when they used to come in the yellow envelope).
The guys at HSBC are really good, so if you call the number on the back of the card they will tell you over the phone if you ask them. If you do and you feel that it was mis sold tell them that then, and they will register the compliant and send you a questionnaire through the post within two weeks.
Hope that may be helpful for you.0 -

Yes it was. That is the place to look. You get one every month. It would be on there every month. There is no easier way than to look at your statement. If it is there, then you have it. If it is not, then you dont.
If you really don't know what appears on your statements each and every month then you need to take a serious look at your financial planning and management.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
