Me too, what grips my !!!! is that steam similar prices to GAME. How the hell do they justify that? The vast majority of the time it's cheaper to get a physical copy sent from amazon than it is to download it through steam.
Yeah that's a bit annoying. They have frequent promotions though which are a little addictive!0 -

As a gamer I can't remember the last time a bought anything in game.
I do...I bought a preowned PSP (£30) in their firesale couple weeks ago. Also snagged some £2 games before everything sold out.
I haven't bought anything from them before this, too expensive and Amazon delivered it to me! Do feel for the staff though, had some nice employees in our local GAME.0 -
I guess that's a thing with [loosely speaking] the high technology world, it moves incredibly quickly. I remember being pretty much blown away when I first went to one of their shops as a kid in the early 90s. Has had its day now, I suppose.FACT.0

People say that exact same thing about every retailer that goes bust: Woolworths; Virgin; Courts; Borders; C&A; Habitat;Barratts; and now GAME
HMV will be the next to go in my opinion....
...who buys CDs there these days?0 -

The fact that people are buying from them at those prices (hence they're not bust) justifies it for them.Me too, what grips my !!!! is that steam similar prices to GAME. How the hell do they justify that?
It's essentially a super-fast postage option (with no cheaper alternatives on Steam). I got home from the pub a couple of weeks ago after talking to people about Skyrim. I'd been kind of wavering about getting it for a while, but the conversation really sealed the deal and I'd decided to buy it.
While it was cheaper on Amazon, I bought it on Steam and was playing it 47 minutes later. I specifically chose to spend a few extra pounds for that convenience, in my situation. Most other times I'll be prepared to wait a few days to save a few quid via Super Saver delivery.
Horses for courses - I'm glad the option exists and Steam don't seem to be in financial trouble so the policy appears to work for them too.0 -
