Hi Everyone,
I'll be in the USA this summer - for the whole of May, June and return mid-July. My car insurance will be up for renewal on 20th June and my road tax will expire on 30th June.
I know I can declare my car SORN and request a road tax refund for May and June (not a huge sum - £27.50, I think) but what I'm not clear on is the car insurance. If I do SORN my car then can I renew my car insurance when I return in mid-July?
Thanks.
OPR

You can insure your car at any time. Insurers love getting their hands on money for nothing. Just be sure it still has an MOT otherwise they might only give you temp insurance to get it MOT'd.0

Are you happy leaving your car uninsured?0

I've never been asked whether a vehicle is MOT'd whilst applying for insurance."Now to trolling as a concept. .... You might not be asked but you'll find its almost certainly in the terms and conditions somewhere.0
