My first official grocery shop of the month arrived last night, only then did I realize that I had failed to order any milk or drinks! Off to Sainsburys tonight to top up, at least it came in under budget so I can afford to!Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p

Off to Lidls on Monday for me - am working on my meal plans as I surf, then will go through the cupboard and freezer. Am looking forward to trying this and hoping I don't fall off half way through!0

We have a sheet of paper on the fridge where we both write down our spending. It's working quite well as we can see where we're spending the money and how many times a week we go to Tesco! Our challenge started on 21st March for April (makes sense, I'm sure!) and we are managing to get alot of use out of the store cupboard items.Sealed Pot Challenge #021 #8 975.71 #9 £881.44 #10 £961.13 #11 £782.13 #12 £741.83 #13 £2135.22 #14 £895.53 #15 £1240.40 #16 £1805.87 #17 £1820.01 declared0

Good idea Vicky - as hubby has no idea of the price of groceries anyway - this could scare the life out of him

Hope you don't mind if I jump on the band wagon. Me and my OH are trying to change what we eat and this could help us alot. A budget of £150 starting today seems reasonable for 2 adults, a 2.5 year old and a 4 month old (I hope).0

Welcome Downandout, £150 sounds ok, see how you get on.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

First shop of the month for me and it did not go very well, I've spent £40 and don't seem to have a lot to show for it.
I did get cat food for the month though as Tesco had 6 cans of Felix for £1.32 so I got 4 packs. I did get some reduced packs of meat too which also took it up a bit.
Our one downfall is crisps as everyone takes a pack with their packed lunches, the cheapest I have found is Aldi's 26 packs for £1.99, has anyone found any cheaper anywhere (apart from Asda Smartprice, we've tried those and they are really nasty)Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

I've stopped buying crisps as part of my campaign to stop us all eating somuch rubbish so I may have gor this wrong but... weren't there boxes of 36 bags of Walkers crisps for £2.50ish in Asda and bags of 18 for £1.25ish in Lidls? That's what I was buying but I may be confused about the prices.0 -
Do you make bread? If you do then do some homemade breadsticks if your kids need a savoury snack. It is surprising how quickly kids (and adults) grow out of the need for crisps. Mine start having packed lunch on monday and they know thay are not having crisps, they are now reserved for birthday parties and the odd treat.Member no.1 of the 'I'm not in a clique' group :rotfl:
