If you have children, register them with the Pets at Home website and they will regularly receive £2 vouchers (with no minimum spend). every little helps when they have pets :D

I've also found www.pets24.co.uk, who are cheaper, but haven't got Hill's in stock.

I've had a look at these people before too but found almost everything I wanted was out of stock and although they have a "notify me when in stock" button, I never heard anything back from them

Oh dear! I seem to have lost this month's challenge already.
What is it they say about "Good Intention"????
I blew a fortune yesterday on theatre tickets, discounted wine at Tesco and my food budget for the month, on reduced stuff in Sainsburys.
    I did print off a 2 4 1 voucher for a meal at Wagamama's though.
I am so going to need help with this budgetting business.
I really do want to do it, yet old habits die hard.

I've been following this thread with interest and have started my own grocery challenge - I get paid mid month so my budget doesn't fit in with a calendar month.

Yesterday I went off to the supermarket with all your tips in my head. I avoided the expensive exotic stuff in the fruit & veg section, picking up seasonal veg and stuff with orange discount stickers. Then on to the dairy section, where I bought a different brand of yoghurt as it was BOGOF. So far so good. I wandered around the rest of the store picking up only stuff that was discounted or own-brand. By now I was feeling really, really pleased with myself. I'd also carefully saved a money off coupon for tea so I hunted around, found the right box and put that in the basket. By the time I got to the checkout my groceries came to 3 pounds under my weekly target. I was so chuffed!

Then, on the way home, I suddenly realised that I'd forgotten to hand over the money off coupon for the tea!!!! I was so excited at saving money that my brain must have fried! Now I feel really silly! Has anyone else got so carried away with the excitement of moneysaving that they've forgotten to do something, or is it just me?

Can you plan meals around all those special offers you now have in stock? Try to use up everything in your cupboards instead of buying more stuff, be creative with accompaniments & use up odd things lurking at the back of your cupboard or freezer instead of the usual, eek out the special offers with cheap meals in between (jacket spuds, omletts, leftovers etc). Enjoy your night out at the theater but take drinks & snacks with you instead of buying them there & don't use the 2 4 1 meal voucher as you still have to pay for one meal out which will be more expensive than eating up the food you have at home. Make it a personal challange to spend as little as you can for the next month, don't browse in shops (even the reduced sections!) & tell yourself that your treat for this month is the wine. Cheers

I agree with you Lillibet and I was completely disgusted at what I read there, considering P@H are supposed to be a professional company (although anyone who has ever worked for them knows their ethics leave a lot to be desired at times ).

I think a letter to HO might be in order here to see what they have to say about it ;)

I started this challenge on March 23rd for the first time with £160 for me, husband and 2 year old. Suprising how quickly it goes, but trying not to buy stuff we just fancy. So in 14 days we have spent £70 which doesn't seem too bad.

Have also used about £1.50 to buy seeds (cress, carrots, pumpkins) to have own supply in a few months time, which should save a bit of money in the long term. Also going back to making my own cakes and bread, and taking books from the local library for different dinner ideas.

And you're all correct about pets at home kids area. What awful writing!
