Hi Stella,
You should get more help with this on the Motoring board so I'll move your thread over there.

http://www.lingscars.com - the woman off Dragon's Den - has an MX-5 on a 2-year lease for £176.24, £196.80 or £217.36 per month, at 10k, 15k or 20k per year.
Total cost is therefore £4,582.24, £5,116.80 or £5,651.36 over the two years.
If you bought one new from DealDrivers for £15,436 then it would be worth £11,400, £10,900 or £10,350 (Glass's p/x prices from Vauxhall for a 2005/05) losing you £4,036, £4,536 or £5,086 respectively.
Of course if you were to buy the car you would also have interest on savings (or loan interest payments) greater than the £500 in "extra" depreciation so this is one of those times when leasing makes sense as long as you're happy about changing cars every two years.Debt at highest: September 2003 - £26,350
Debt now: £14,100
Debt free day: October 2008 :beer:0
