Romans Estate Agents

Mini rant:

I know times are tough. Businesses need to bring in money, I get that, but I'm fussy about cold callers, nuisance phone calls & SMS messages, spam & unwanted junk mail.

I've taken the time to register with the MPS, TPS. I've opted out of Royal Mail Door To Door and most decent, professional organisation respect my choice not to be contacted. But there are always a few exceptions that I think of as 'data bandits'. Whilst topping the list come the Telecommunications & TV companies that loophole the MPS by sending to 'The Occupier', the faux charity bag type door to doorers, and rude, ignorant companies..... like Romans Estate Agents.

I cannot express my joy when it comes to receiving a monthly letter from one of their staff telling me about what they have sold, and how they would like to sell my home for me. I've never had any dealings with estate agents, let alone Romans, and I'm not likely to.

The first problem I have with this is they have used a name that I was previously known by - and it is misspelled. The bizarre thing is this misspelling only ever appeared on the Council Tax bill an number of years ago. So It makes me wonder just where they are acquiring their data from.

Next up I've now asked them three times to stop sending mail to me. Each time they do not respond, and it goes on.

Finally, much that I would like to sell my house and pocket the profit, I don't think my housing association would be very happy about it, and I'm sure I'd be in breach of my tenancy agreement if I did it.

It crosses my mind that if I were to throw a piece of unwanted litter in the street, I could be fined for it. Yet people can shove rubbish through my door and that is supposed to be OK. I'm sure it's a 'letter box' not a 'litter box'.

Whilst I'm confident that I can get this stopped , I just want to rant about this grotty little company who feel that it is OK to ignore my personal preferences and invade our privacy.
