in Credit cards
Right cut a long story short Well sort of short, it basically escalated around three to four years ago and escalated into applying for credit cards type Of addiction where I would get a buzz getting accepted.
At my peak I was carrying a Halifax, barclaycard, Santander, & nationwide and carrying balances of around just over £2000 on each total owed on these were £8900 at one point.
I decided enough is enough and just got completely fed up getting online statements from these telling me I owe one so much amount etc etc, and thought I don't even need any of these cards, so in the end I sacrificed loads of my social life done plenty of overtime and finally now got shot of all these cards and can honestly say being debt free of credit card debt and wallet free of these Is the biggest buzz I have ever felt in my life.
So the other week I knew credit cards used properly are very handy tools in the right hands but knew I didn't want this so in the end went to my local Barclays explained my situation to the very nice gentleman about maybe upping my overdraft and he decided to give me a £3000 interest free overdraft.
I understand this is not everyone's choice obviously the cash back credit cards are very good earners, but thought I would share this as maybe someone may want to take this option.
Sorry about the long post BTW.

Credit cards can either be your best friend or your worst enemy.
You are right that it is useful to have a credit card for emergencies etc, but I believe there is a small percentage of people who they are unsuitable for0 -

Firstly: Well done for getting yourself debt free it must feel amazing.
Secondly: Don't forget Overdrafts are still Debt.
Thirdly: Did you really get a £3000 interest free overdraft from Barclays ?
Good Luck in staying on the straight and narrow financial path...0 -
