    Hi LJ,

I've just come across your advice ref online filing and you sound like a pro. May I be bold and ask if you would mind if I PM'd you for a copy of your simple spreadsheet as well? I'll be attempting to filing my very first tax return by end Oct 11. Thank you! :)

No problems at all. PM your email address and I'll send it to you.
You had me at your proper use of "you're".
  • Can I ask one question, that any accountant worth their salt should have asked you: Do you have a pension?

Can I just ask the significance of the pension question, thanks.

for those on the verge of the 40% tax rate, paying into pension gets tax relief so can get them back under the threshold - assuming of course that they are happy to tie their money into a pension product

Can I have a copy of the spreadsheet too? This will be my first year filing as a landlord although I have been self employed for a few years in another capacity I would like to keep the two incomes seperate then join them when I file.
Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.

LJ, would you mind if I pm'd you for a copy as well? I'm in a similar position to the op and will hopefully be doing my own tax returns.

Emily10, Could you send me a copy too please. I have four buy to let properties and am trying to be more efficient with my record keeping.
