When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important

Morning  yay to Wednesday - we've made it half way through the working week :j and the sun is shining here in kent :j:j

Small things for the day:
  • [STRIKE]checked banking & ccs - no surprises![/STRIKE]
  • walk to work
  • [STRIKE]brekkie will be banana smoothi, using up 2 frozen/brown bananas[/STRIKE]
  • dinner pasta bake using up LO chicken from Sunday
  • [STRIKE]see if my neighbours are in so I can collect my parcel delivered yesterday on my way to work[/STRIKE]
  • check onepoll
  • [STRIKE]check ebay sales[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]freeze portions of mash I made yesterday to ensure none are thrown away![/STRIKE]

that's all, there'll probably be more but that's all I can think of right now! Am meeting my best friend for lunch today :)

Have a happy day everyone x

  • Morning all...
I've been awol for a couple of days again. Lots going on at the moment, and I had another migraine last night which saw me in bed for 9pm.
Plus DS is ill and OH still off work. I'm a little concerned about leaving a 3 year old with him whilst he's unwell but I'm hoping it'll do him some good to actually have some time with his son (albeit both ill).
    Things for today:
:) washing done and on airer
:) start of my wedding diet today - my food already supplied, rest of family eat from stores
    :) read Martin's email
:) get some marking done after school instead of hitting the shops
:) make sure ds and OH go out even if just for half an hour

Morning everyone - especially those who are feeling under the weather. Hope the lurgy passes soon.

Feelinga little more positive this morning although today will be a spendy day - have to buy (hopefully our last packet of) pull ups for the toddler, have Slimming World tonight and the new mag is out (cheaper in group and filled with good family recipes).
    Apart from that

    - Check Onepoll
    - Check banking (although am not liking that at the moment... too little cash!)
    - Wash out on the line
    - Lunch in with me from home including fruit and yoghurt for snacks
    - Dinner from the stores at home
    - Heating on very low again - must remember to switch it off over night (only comes on for half an hour to take chill off but it is very mild today).
    - No unnecessary car journeys - walk to Slimming World and back.
