Unenforceable Credit Agreements

I keep getting calls about this and whilst it sounds all too dreamy to write off my credit card debts (two of them pre 2007), I cant understand why the company say that there is a gagging order in the press about these claims.
Of course they want my credit card debt amount voiced over the phone and that there is a charge to run the assesment for such a claim-back but I said no no no! I asked him loads of questions about this regime and said that Id think about it. Since then, Ive been researching and researching but can only find useful information dating back to 2010. There are a few things listed on this site post 2010 but it seems that this unenforceable credit agreement regime is now null and void?

Is that the case?

Im already claiming mis-sold PPI on a car finance and loan (all paid off but im still able to claim) but as im really struggling with credit cards repayment right now, this unenforceable route seems quite interesting.

Can anyone tell me if this regime is still a valid route to take, please?

Yes you can. You know the claims are tosh.

It was always a crock of faeces that typically cost £495 + VAT to discover.

Credit cards are unsecured loans and as such, you can refuse to pay for whatever reason you wish. However, if you do so, they have a right to obliterate your credit worthyness and you could then be refused credit for upto 6 years. Your choice.

Stop responding to these phone calls - you'll be plagued with them for months and, once they give up trying to hook you in, they will sell your phone number and any details you gave them to other scam companies who will plague you with even more pie-in-the-sky schemes.

As soon as you realise who the call is from, stop talking and put the phone down.

It may take months of this treatment before they and their fellow-scammers stop calling you.
  • thanks all - i thought this unenforceabilty thing was overruled but its rearing its ugly head big style. Disgusting, really.
