My parents had parking sensors fitted to their new car by Halfords for under £150. It's a really professional job-I would never have guessed they were retrofit- and at that price I wouldn't even consider taking the risk of botching it. They're extremely happy with them-my mum hates parking, but it gives her the confidence to park....umm... a great big 4x4 thingy. It's silver, if that helps.

Quite possibly, but you try telling her that, I don't much fancy your chances of finishing your sentence alive!

Having had a look at some of the instructions they looks like they're pretty easy to fit - can anyone recommend any particular makes/models to buy?

    Thanks

Just means you will have to fork out for a new bumper AND a new set of parking sensors.

She will rely on them completely, gives her something to blame the crash on, "they didn't beep" or "they weren't loud enough to hear over the music".

The above happened to a mates wife, he fitted an old tow bar off ebay in the end

I got some for my MK4 Mondeo. £20 off eBay. On the Mondeo if you look at the back of the bumper you can see some round markings where the factory fit ones go so it was simply a case of drilling the holes there and finding a way to route into the boot. The hardest part was picking up a feed for the reverse lights as they're in the boot lid and the harness shot off into the bodywork.

That's nice -- so the other poor !!!!!! will get the bill when she hits and runs without even realising it....
  • OH got a pack from halford's for his car and a mobile fitter came out to fit it. Looks good - you wouldn't release it's an add on and has a screen above the back window showing distance. However it can miss small bollards.

think i paid 300 quid for front and rear sensors for my zafira which included a display on my dash and one at the back on the roof (inside) which you can see through your rear view mirror (the numbers are reversed so when you look in the mirror they are the right way round). there is a switch for the front ones and the rear ones work when you select reverse.the make was dolphin found it on google

We have had dolphins fitted on a couple of our cars and been very pleased with both.

Think the sets started at £50 or £60 quid for rear only and they can send a fitter over to you for £85.

They can colour match most cars or you can choose black.

They also do front and rear or cameras if you prefer.

I am happy with a beep beep beeeeeeeeeeeeeeep job
